PhD & Public Speaking
Research has always been a core driver of mine and a PhD was a goal that I held since a young age. After four enriching years I received confirmation of my dissertation in 2015, Understanding the behaviour of design thinking in complex environments, from Swinburne University. The PhD has allowed me to talk on stage about my research and 12 years of expertise in the field of design, process of creativity, & innovation
Strategic Design
My career journey in design progressed in line with the industry’s evolution. Starting from graphic design I shifted focus to web development and UX. After a masters in sustainable design I focused on product-service systems. From my PhD, I settled on my current expertise: strategic design. Strategic design is the love-child of strategy, business management, proposition development, human-centred design and innovation practice.
Consulting
A few years at Deloitte polished my professional skillset in consultative practice. Today I provide both pro-bono and professional services as an independent SME in design, research, creative innovation, strategy and proposition development. Engagements range from ad-hoc billed advice, fixed-term project work, fellowships, and retainer based consulting contracts.
Teaching & Leadership
I have spent 8 years teaching and lecturing in the field of design at both the undergraduate and post-grad level. I am often asked about how to succeed in design, by young students and career-changers, which has led me to extend my professional services to tutoring, coaching and mentorship. My reflections on teaching, academia and practice have been captured over the past 10 years on my blog
